Travel has gone pretty smoothly so far. Thanks to Sheryl (and Dad), we arrived at the airport this morning with plenty of time to spare. I spotted several gawkers who were, I’m certain, quite envious of my new giraffe print luggage, though only one stopped to point and stare. Both flights were on time, so we didn’t run into any trouble with connections. The flight from Dallas to Tokyo seemed shorter than I expected. I didn’t sleep as much as I hoped (as in hardly more than an hour), but definitely ate more than I expected (they fed us 3 times on the 13 hour flight). As we landed in Tokyo I realized that I had only actually gotten up once during the flight and really regretted it as I tried to shove my swollen, bloated feet back into my shoes. Customs went smoothly also and so far everyone we’ve encountered has spoken English. We’re now on train 2/4 on the way to Iwakuni, where Steven and Leah will be picking us up at the station. We’re so excited to see them and to meet Zach!
