This afternoon, we’ll head to Ireland for a 2 week lap around the island. We’ll start in Dublin and head south along the east coast, then north along the west coast, ending back in Dublin.
Follow along with us as we:
- Try to ignore our jetlag while we tour Dublin
- Pick up a rental car and adjust to being on the wrong side of the road as we make our way to Kilkenny
- Stop at the Rock of Cashel on our way to Kinsale
- Drive the Ring of Kerry, stopping midway at Portmagee
- Huff and puff our way to the top of Skellig Michael Island and hopefully meet some puffins
- Make a loop around the Dingle peninsula and get a live working sheepdog demonstration
- Try not to get wind-swept off of the cliffs of Moher
- Photograph every possible wildflower in the Burren
- Enjoy some traditional music in Galway
- Spend a night on Inishmore (Aran Islands) and see what it has to offer after the last ferry leaves
- Enjoy the scenery of Connemara on our way to Westport
- Admire the scenery of Donegal on our way to Northern Ireland
- See lasting remnants of “the troubles” in the walls and murals of Derry
- Explore the Giant’s Causeway and the Antrim Coast on our way to Belfast
- Check out the Titanic museum in Belfast and learn more about “the troubles”
- Spend a couple of days in Trim and fly back home from Dublin
Slainte!
