Chuck and I head to France in a little over two weeks for our next big adventure!
- We’ll fly into Paris first, but then rent a car and head straight to…
- Rouen, where we’ll eat at France’s oldest restaurant and stay for the night before heading on to…
- Bayeux, where we’ll check out a ridiculously long tapestry and spend a couple of days visiting the historic D-Day sights and then swing by…
- Mont Saint-Michel to admire the picturesque abbey.
- From there, we’ll head back to Paris, where we’ll…
- enjoy the excitement of the Opening Ceremony (from a distance) while trying not to be pick-pocketed (again),
- catch the very first session of Rugby Sevens,
- and check out Sainte-Chapelle and the Musée d’Orsay (and anything else we can find to explore that isn’t closed for the Olympics).
- After a few days in Paris, we’ll catch a train to Lille, where we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to see both the men’s and women’s US basketball teams play.
- USA vs Serbia for the men’s team
- USA vs Japan for the women’s team
- After a few days in Lille, we’ll take the train to Nice, which will be our home base for the rest of the trip.
- We’ll catch a women’s football match (or “soccer” to some of you),
- Canada vs Colombia
- make some day trips to surrounding cities,
- and make a multi-day trip to Marseille for sailing and the men’s and women’s football semi-finals
- We’ll catch a women’s football match (or “soccer” to some of you),
It’s definitely a loaded itinerary and we’re sure to be worn out by the end, but we’re excited to get another look at Paris and the French Riviera and to explore some new-to-us areas, as well.
Looking forward
